Padmaavat Movie Review (3.5/5.0)
The most controversial film of recent times ‘Padmaavat’ finally hits screens today.Bhansali film faced many hurdles in its release.Deepika Padukone, who portrayed title role too faced personal abuse from Rajputs and other communal forces. After Supreme Court intervention, Padmaavat took the light with CBFC clearance with conditions.Let’s see how the film looked on screen.
Cast: Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Shahid Kapoor, Jim Sarbh, Aditi Rao Hydari, Raza Murad, Anupriya Goenka
Director: Sanjay Leela Bhansali
Story: Chittor King and queen Ratan Singh (Shahid Kapoor) and Padmavati (Deepika Padukone) lives a lovely yet graceful life in their kingdom.Cruel invader Alladdin’s (Ranveer Singh) enters their lives with power thirst.
How they fight him, Whats happens to Ratan Singh and How Padmavati takes the proceedings forms crux of the story.
Analysis: As expected, Padmaavat is a visually appealing movie for its grand scale presentation.Lead actors just nailed each character. The poetic way of narration wins audience hearts.Bhansali stages spectacular war scenes, striking just the right balance between grand scale and intimacy.
Ranveer Singh comes first when we have to talk about artists. He just gets into shoes of Aladdin with his cruel looks and brutality in acts.
As Ratan Singh, the virtuous Rajput king, Shahid Kapoor does a lot of posturing in the name of acting – some of it while baring his torso.
Deepika Padukone was beautiful, ferocious and emotionally sounded good. She is especially good in the film’s second half when her character slides into the driver’s seat, taking charge and showing the way.
On Final Note, Padmaavat is a spectacular ride with right ingredients of love, emotion, and fight for honor.
Bottom Line: Watch this spectacular show For Ranveer!
