“Nenu Delhi lo Dakshinavaadini.. Nenu Telangana lo Telanganavadhini.. Nenu Hyderabad lo Urdu matlade Hyderabadini..” said Asaduddin Owaisi on Friday evening, at the opening event of Prapancha Telugu Mahasabhalu, reading out the message he prepared to deliver at the event. And that stunned every political, literary and common audience out there.
Very rarely we see MIM President Asaduddin Owaisi utter Telugu words even in the assembly of former Andhra Pradesh or present day Telangana assembly. Both the Owaisi brothers are very eloquent and fantastic orators in Hindi, Urdu and English as well. But to praise the commitment being shown by Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao in projecting Telugu as the global language, Asaduddin decided to give a short 3-minute Telugu speech, at the venue, using an Urdu-written Telugu copy.
While he sounded like a foreigner talking in Telugu, it could be said that his South Indian roots made him speak the language quite better than anyone else. At the same time, the Owaisi senior stated that Hindus and Muslims are living in religious harmony since Qutub Shahi ages, and quoted a couple of Muslim poets who wrote Quran in Telugu and also wrote other Telugu literature.
After listening to asaduddin owaisi telugu speech, definitely one will think twice about meddling with him even politically. Because he grew close not just to Telangana CM KCR but also many Telangana people.
